Clifford Lute, 81
Clifford William Lute, 81, of Lucasville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the Ross Heart Hospital at the Ohio State University Hospitals.
He was born May 11, 1931, in Rushtown, a son of the late Herschell and Rosetta Logan Lute.
Cliff was a retired Chemrock Department worker for Waller Brothers Stone, former guard at the Fruehauf Trailer Plant in Waverly, a Walmart greeter, and a US Army Korean War veteran receiving the Purple Heart.
He is survived by one son Michael (Patricia) Lute of Piketon; one daughter Rebecca (Larry) Malone of Camp Creek; three grandchildren Clifford “Bub” Lute, Billy Malone, and Lori Malone; one brother Donald Lute of Columbus; and two sisters Helen Ellis of McDermott and Shirley VanDyke of Fairborn, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joann VanKirk, Feb. 9, 2002; and one brother Dwight Lute.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:30 p.m.Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with George Vastine officiating. The presentation of the flag will follow the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Friends may call 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
