Clara Messer, 79

Clara J. Messer, 79, of Sciotoville died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Dayton, a daughter of the late Billy and Alice DeLong Ward. Clara is survived by two sons, Charles E. Messer II and wife Cindy of Franklin Furnace and David Messer and wife Tonya of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Chad Messer, Amanda Blevins and Tyler Messer and a great-granddaughter, Allison Messer.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Messer in 2003 and a sister, Sherry Steiner. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 12, 2012, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at D.W. SWICK in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
