The Cirque d'Art Theatre, a residency troupe of the Southern Ohio Museum, will present the circus production “Dreamscape” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth West Elementary School.

The circus program is funded by the Scioto Foundation and the Clark Foundation.

This year's production will feature two new pieces of circus aerial equipment, a three-dimensional revolving star and a fabric chandelier. Other aerial routines will be performed on the Spanish web, hanging ladder, triple trapeze, swinging trapeze, Roman rings, and hoops.

“Dreamscape: where vision becomes reality” will be presented in three acts, including Earthscapes, Seascapes and Offworldscapes and also will include dance, ballet, acrobatics, adagio, and tumbling.

The audience will be treated to dazzling costumes and unusual choreography.

One of the most unique routines will be where the aerialists perform on the trapeze and contortionists on a rolling acrobatic platform while costumed as mermaids.

An adagio routine will include forest creatures' masks designed and created by each of the performers.

Nearly 200 performers ages 2 to 62 years will perform in the two-hour event.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
