Carrie Whitt, 90, of New Boston, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at SOMC Hospice Center.

She was born December 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Stumbo and Margaret Gibson Thornsberry.

Carrie is survived by six sons, Bill (Nancy) Whitt, Claude (Opal) Whitt, Otis (Judy) Whitt, Roger (Cathy) Whitt, Jerry (Marsha) Whitt, and Larry (Mary) Whitt; three daughters, Brenda (Carl) Morman, Linda (Leonard) Pack, and JoAnn Whitt; a sister, Clova Howell; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Otis Whitt; her son, James Whitt; four brothers, and four sisters.

Private services will be Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Paul Hagen officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of the D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston.
