Carlos Edward Bishop, 76, of Lucasville, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at his home with family under hospice care.

He was born on April 7, 1936, in Scioto Furnace, a son of the late Carlos (Gilley) Bishop and Florence Donohoe Rawlins. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Lou Smith Bishop whom he married in June 1973

Carlos is survived by his sister, Wanda Jane Frazier of Wheelersburg; one brother, Roger Lee Rawlins of Grove City; three daughters, Karla Shope of Lucasville; Julie (Tim) Allen of Lucasville and Angela Pickard of Otway; four step-children, Jim (Dottie) Perkins of Concord, N.C.; Donald (Cathy) Perkins of Longwood, Fla.; David (Lori) Perkins of Cummings, Ga.; and Anita Wysong of Orlando, Fla.; 13 grandcildren and 13 great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles who he loved so very much.

Carlos served two years active duty at Lockborne Air-Force Base followed by eight years in the US Navy until 1961. A member of the American Legion Post 471 and Portsmouth Eagles. He was a member of the Bithlo Baptist Church in Bithlo, Fla. and was retired from the Orange County Public Schools in Orlando as a school bus operator for special needs children. He spent many years as an engineer for G & C Towing in Point Pleasant, W.Va., and many other Tow Boats up and down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. He also worked as a security guard at SOCF and in Orange County. He was skilled as a heavy equipment operator and also worked at Waller Brothers Stone Quary in McDermott. Carlos loved to square dance, enjoyed singing and writing songs, playing his guitar, making friends and enjoying life. Always seeing the brighter side in every situation, He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Funeral Home in South Webster with Pastor Gary Chaffins and Pastor Kevin Hay officiating and interment in Scioto Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Davis Funeral Home in South Webster.
