NEW BOSTON — CBS Factory Direct Windows in New Boston is currently the only local distributor of Vinyl Kraft Windows. Last month, the supply company moved up the road, and into the Vinyl Kraft building.

“The average person on the street can’t walk into Vinyl Kraft and purchase a window. Vinyl Kraft made over 200,000 windows last year that they distributed in a 14-state area. Vinyl Kraft is a very big window manufacturer. They manufacture from Chicago to Detroit to Pittsburgh to Lexington, and all over the East Coast. But for southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, CBS Factory Direct Windows is the exclusive distributor for Vinyl Kraft,” said CBS general manager Cole Keller.

Another benefit of purchasing from a local supplier and manufacturer, Keller said, is that they offer fast, local service.

“No window supplier around here can say this. If you buy a Vinyl Kraft window and, say, you break that glass tomorrow, we can have that fixed for you the next day. We don’t have to ship it off to Michigan or the East Coast someplace, or down in West Virginia and get it back in four to six weeks. We can have that for you the next day. There’s no one else that can come close to that,” Keller said.

Previously located at 4220 Rhodes Ave., CBS moved its business last month to the Vinyl Kraft Windows building at 3406 Rhodes Ave. The move consolidates their cooperative operations, and offers CBS a product showroom area.

“We moved from a drab old building that was run-down and way past its prime, to a brand new showroom that’s bright and sunny and displays all of our windows and siding options. It’s a small showroom, but it’s nice and it’s bright and we can represent our product much better here than we could down at the old place,” Keller said.

The new location also offers another great benefit — letting the customers walk out onto the manufacturing floor with a sales representative to see how the windows are built.

“If a customer wanted to see how a window was made or a sliding patio door, we could throw some safety glasses on them and take them right out and show them. Most customers don’t do that, but we have had a bigger customer who is going to buy a large volume of windows come in and take a tour,” Keller said.
