TEMPE, Ariz. - Nick Mangold and Rob Sims were kids the magical night of Jan. 3, 2003, freshmen playing in their first bowl game for Ohio State.

Three years later, they will end their careers on that same Fiesta Bowl field on Monday against Notre Dame as senior anchors on the Buckeyes' offensive line.

These days of preparation offer an opportunity to reminisce about what many consider the greatest college football game ever played.

“As you get further and further away from it,” Mangold said, “it gets more and more special.”

Ohio State upset Miami 31-24 in double-overtime that night, ending the Hurricanes' 34-game winning streak.
