KDMC hosts infant adoption workshop
King's Daughters Medical Center of Ashland, Ky., will host a workshop designed to provide health care professionals with an accurate understanding about the adoption experience. “Understanding Infant Adoption” will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Health Education Center, lower level of Lexington Avenue parking garage.
Expert trainers will facilitate this one-day, comprehensive training session, presented by Harmony Adoptions and Adopt!inc. The workshop is open to healthcare professionals serving pregnant women, including nurses and social workers.

Public employee retirees meet
Public Employee Retirees Inc. Scioto County Chapter will have its annual holiday dinner and party at noon Thursday at New Boston Community Center, 3980 Rhodes Ave., New Boston. The meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. The chapter will provide the meat and beverages, and members are asked to bring a dish to share and table service.
Entertainment will be a series of games in keeping with the season.

Alzheimer's Family Support Group will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at USSA Senior Center, 117 Market St.
Jaycees conduct Christmas sign ups
The Portsmouth Area Jaycees will conduct sign ups for Christmas help from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at 2033 Gallia St. Those registering will need to bring proof of income and Social Security numbers for all in the household.
