All right sports fans it's 9 a.m. For a sports writer that's about 3 in the morning but I am up and heading to Athens for the AP Southeast All-District meeting.

To give you a little insight. Most newspapers in the district, including the PDT, call their area coaches to get suggested nominations. We bring those nominations and player stats to the meeting, get into some heated discussions and when it is over try to have an accurate representation of who are the best players in our region.

It's an imperfect process but we enjoy the chance to represent the kids from our area on the district scale.
