• Madison Township trustees, meeting, Township Hall A, White Gravel Road, approximately one-half mile off Ohio 335, Minford, 7 p.m.

• Northwest Regional Water District Board, meeting, Thomas E. Slye Annex, 123 Smith Street, McDermott, 7:30 p.m.

• SOLACE will be holding a candle light vigil on September 20 in Tracy Park starting at 8 p.m. The vigil will be held in memory of those lost to drug related deaths.

•  Northwest LPDC Committee Meeting, 2:45 p.m. in Northwest Elementary School Conference Room. High School and Middle School will meet at 2:45 p.m. and Elementary will meet after dismissal.

•  Ohio Valley Tea Party regular meeting, 6 p.m. at the Portsmouth Public Library.

• A breast cancer support group is offered by the SOMC Cancer Center and volunteers to provide ongoing support and fellowship to women diagnosed with breast cancer. The group will meet at 1 p.m. September 21 at the SOMC Cancer Center, located at 1121 Kinneys Lane in Portsmouth. The support group meets on the third Wednesday of each month and guest speakers provide education and encouragement. For more information, call 740-356-7496.

• Ohio Pest Control in conjunction with the city of Portsmouth (Sciotoville) will be conducting mosquito spraying in September 21 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. If inclement weather prevents the spraying, then spraying will be done on September 28th at the same time. Anyone with respiratory problems should consider closing their windows and shutting off any window unit air conditioners until the fog has dissipated.

Include in writing the names of the club or sponsoring organization, time, day, date and complete address of event planned.
