Free day of dentistry is announced

Dr. Tracy Murray is out to change lives by offering free smile to anyone who needs dental work, as he hosts the latest event for Dentistry From The Heart.

In the past year, Dr. Murray and his team of dentists, sponsors and volunteers have helped over 110 people in need of dental work — treating patients in need of fillings extractions and cleanings. This year’s event promises to be the largest yet.

“Now more than ever, I know there’s people out there that need my services, but have no means to afford them — whether they’re out of a job, or just don’t have dental insurance. This Dentistry from the Heart event is my way of giving back to the community, and being there for the people who are in need of dental work,” Dr. Murray said.

The event will take place on Aug. 22 at Dr. Murray’s office in Portsmouth. Starting at 8:30 a.m., Dr. Murray and his volunteers will treat prescreened patients first, then remaining patients will be seen on a first come first serve basis. For more information, visit portsmouthdentalcare.com or the organization’s national Web site at www.dentistryfromtheheart.org.

Dentistry from the Heart is a registered non-profit organization that offers free dental work for people who need it. Dr. Vincent Monticciolo founded the organization as a means to give back to the community and address the growing number of people without dental insurance. In the past seven years, Dentistry from the Heart events have contributed over $l million in free dentistry and helped over 5,000 patients across the country.

Call (740) 354-DENT for a prescreen appointment, which started July 20.
