PDT Staff Report

Officers from the Greenup County (Ky.) Sheriff’s Department seized about 50 marijuana plants from three different locations throughout Greenup County over several hours in the afternoon and night on Friday.

Marijuana plants were located at the Greenup-Lewis county line at a residence on Big White Oak Road and at another residence in Beattyville.

Sheriff Keith M. Cooper stated that all of the illegal plants were being tended like a garden, with most of the plants being approximately six feet tall. Arrests are pending in at least two of the cases.

Anyone with information about illegal growing operations is urged to contact Sheriff Cooper at (606) 473-9833 during business hours or (606) 473-1411 any other time. Calls will be kept confidential.
