Craig J. Opperman, Scioto County engineer, announces the work schedule for May 17 to 21 for his office.
Schedule includes:
Concrete pipe installation — Schwamberger Road, County Road 309 in Vernon Township, will be closed Thursday and Friday, both day and night. County engineer’s crews will be replacing a concrete pipe located at the 0.93 mile marker, 0.90 miles from Lick Run Lyra, 0.07 miles from Poplar Fork Road.
Concrete box installation — White-Gravel-McDaniel, County Road 18 in Madison Township, will be closed Monday through Friday, both day and night, located at the 2.54 mile marker, 0.67 miles from White Gravel-Dewey, 0.56 miles from Brame and 0.84 miles from Mount Carmel. The county engineer’s crews will be installing a concrete box culvert.
Ditching — Upper Twin Creek in Nile and Brush Creek townships.
Mowing — Shela Boulevard, Hammerstein, Dogwood Ridge and Hayport in Porter Township; Gallia Pike in Green and Porter townships; Allegheny Hill and Dixon Mill in Harrison and Porter townships; Henley Deemer, Pollock Road, and McDermott Pond Creek in Rush and Union townships; Henley Comstock in Union Township; Dry Run in Union and Washington townships; Carey’s Run Pond Creek in Rush, Union and Washington townships.
Wheeler’s Mill Road closes
Wheeler’s Mill Road, Township Road 238 in Harrison Township, will be closed Monday, May 17, through Friday, May 28, both day and night, located 1.47 miles from Ohio 335, 1.36 miles from Tick Ridge. Kuhn Construction Inc. will be repairing a slip. This is an emergency repair project of the Harrison Township trustees.
Breakfast and walk is May 22

Basket bingo is May 18
Relay for Life will have Basket Bingo (20 bingo game packet) at 6 p.m. May 18 at the Beaver Fire Department, Ohio 335, Beaver. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Also there will be prizes and food.
Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Jefferson Township continues cleanup
Jefferson Township will have cleanup for Jefferson Township residents from 7 a.m. to noon today. Dumpsters will be located at the Glendale Senior Center. Hazardous waste, tire, paint cans with paint, refrigerators or air conditioners with freon will not be accepted.
Respiratory symposium is set
The 14th annual Tri-State Spring Respiratory Symposium will take place May 20 at the Friends Center in Portsmouth.
