A Minford man has been arrested by deputies with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy.

Sheriff Marty Donini said Tyler Burchett, 18, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony.

Burchett’s arrest followed a nearly two-week investigation after the sheriff’s office got a call on Nov. 29 reporting the alleged incident.

Burchett is listed as a sexual offender from previous charges, which requires him to register as a sexual offender.

Burchett was lodged in the Scioto County Jail under a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear on the charge Monday in Portsmouth Municipal Court.

He asked that anyone with information regarding the case contact Detective Jodi Conkel at the sheriff’s office at (740) 351-1091.

All calls will remain anonymous, the sheriff said.

G. SAM PIATT can be reached at (740) 353-3101, ext. 236.

mear2011,

We are not judging this mans heart BUT his fruits. Opinions and thoughts are not judgements. If your offended then something is wrong. I do believe we shouldn't judge but opinions are warranted.

Pray for the child and family....

If he's a registered offender why doesn't his name show up on the registries?

If he's on a registry or a repeat sexual offender why only $10,000.

Is Schisler the judge?

I agree. Are you insane Judge 10,000 bond the guy or what ever he is. Has Ben proven to have or enforce sex with a child more than once. Please set him in Scioto County Jail with these charges and the news and let him SEE welcome to the system. I would wish him the best in jail prison or where ever but in truth. He is going to get the worst of jail. Then Pen. If you have never dealt with child rape Or Abuse Then please be silent. If you have please step up, That is all I can ask without giving my story.Thanks. I was molested @ 6 Till 9 Then threw 15 I am a 45 year old man now Married 19 years now I have a lot of pain but I also Help a lot of people Get threw it. I love life more than life itself, It is great to help and even greater to raise above the system and to help those that deal with it. I will be around in an email.

18 yrs. old! REPEAT OFFENDER!

Just a $10,000 bond?

Hope the judge and jury are parents and grandparents when they hear this case. A 3 yr. old is barely out of diapers. This is horrendus!
