We were in a war long before Sept. 11, it just took an attack on our own soil to realize this. The hatred of the “infidels” has been taught in these certain countries for years. They spend every waking moment thinking and planning new ways to attack. To think that pulling out of Iraq is going to make things go back to normal is insane.
With each year that goes by, the terrorists are becoming smarter and better equipped to carry out larger attacks. That time they used planes, next time who knows what? They are not interested in land, oil or anything material unless it helps to serve their purpose (killing the infidels). Shortly after Sept. 11, if we had taken a poll, I believe an overwhelming majority of the people would have said to go to war. In fact, many of the democrats who are blaming the president for the war voted to go to war in the beginning.
I believe the president took the best option available to him at the time and did the best he could with it. The fact that it looks like a bad choice now has many (who agreed to go to war) turning on him and saying what a terrible job he has done. What would you have done? Would you just sit here and watch for the next attack? Would you build a wall around America big enough that they can't get in? Would you try to make a deal with them, and say ‘Please, don't do it again?'
This is an enemy that is not going to quit. It is merely another step toward the end.
It is the Scriptures being fulfilled before our very eyes. There is a real war going on and it's been going on since the beginning. The battle for our soul rages within us everyday, we all feel it, we all know it and most of us ignore it. The enemy (sin) is real, and it is an enemy that will not quit until it has destroyed us. The end is real and is fast approaching. We can't sit and wait and hope it passes us by. We can't build a wall and hide from it. After it comes, no deals will be made to get us out of it. Only by accepting Christ as our savior and preparing for it will we make it through it.

Local woman gives thanks for her son's teacher
Thanksgiving is a special time of year. We should take time out to give thanks and appreciate the many things in life that are sometimes overlooked or taken for granted.
A good example of the aforementioned would be teachers. Unfortunately, it seems the educators of our children are blamed for mishaps but rarely complimented. I, for one, would like to take this opportunity to state how thankful I am for conscientious teachers.
Mrs. Megan Johnson is a refreshing change to education. “I have complete confidence in New Boston Schools that your son will receive quality education.” That was one of the first statements I ever heard this woman relay to an anxious parent.
Not only does she do her job during school hours, but during the evening as well, making phone calls to parents, complimenting and putting faith in her school system over the summer, taking time out to paint and decorate her room, anything that needs done to “help her children” she will accomplish.
I have seen Mrs. Johnson in and out of the classroom, and she is always the same - even-tempered, patient and very straightforward with parents and children. (Not in a negative way.) She treats the pupils as if they were her own children. She even will tell you that she looks at them as her own.
My son has come home and made statements regarding synonyms, patterns (as practiced in school), rhyming words, sounding out and spelling words and actually looks forward to going to school the next day. I attribute a lot of this to Mrs. Johnson.
I understand that she has help with intervention teachers, but she does go above and beyond the call of duty. “It really hurts me to see a child frustrated. I want them to realize they can do anything with just a little practice and patience,” she has said.
Don't you wish all teachers felt this way?
