He was born April 11, 1913, in Roann, Ind., a son of the late Dennis R. Pottenger and Emma Lavengood Pottenger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances R. "Bertie" McNeill Pottenger.
He is survived by daughters, Jeanne Clegg, Patricia Robbins and Kathy Ison; son, Steve Pottenger; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
