Jean Weghorst McFarland, 85, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Born on Jan. 23, 1923, in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Josephine Grumme Parker.

She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Stanley Weghorst and Harold McFarland; and two brothers, Joseph and William Parker.

Survivors include one son, Donald E. Weghorst and wife Margaret of Titusville, Fla.; two daughters, Esther Weghorst Downey, and Karin Weghorst Campbell and husband, Terry, all of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dane Armstrong, minister, officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at Brant
