Brookville, OH- The Kentucky Mudcats won the 2014 Brookville Bash Baseball 12U Tournament at the Golden Gate Park on June 28-29 in Brookville, Ohio. The latest tournament win now gives the Kentucky Mudcats championships in 4 of the 5 tournaments they have played in during the 2014 season.
During the two day tournament, the Mudcats were in total control as they played teams from the Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton areas. The Mudcats never trailed in their five tournament games behind explosive hitting and solid pitching and defense. By winning pool play games by the scores of 7-2 and 11-1 respectively, the Kentucky Mudcats went into Championship Sunday as the number one seed with a first round bye of the single elimination tournament. The Mudcats capped off the Championship game by defeating the Enon Knights in 4 innings by a score of 18-3
The 12U Kentucky Mudcats are now an impressive 37-4 on the season.
Players for the Kentucky Mudcats consist of boys from Kentucky and Ohio. Members are Jake Gregg of Ashland along with Jacob Heighton, Seth Mills, Kirk Pence, Braydon Shore and Chase Thornsberry of Raceland. Representing Ohio are Beau Brownstead, Collin Freeman and Isaac Whaley from Ironton and rounding out the roster are Brayden Davis and Luke Lindamood from Minford.
The Kentucky Mudcats will complete the season by playing at the Cooperstown All Star Village in New York on July 11-18.
The Kentucky Mudcats Baseball Club was established in the fall of 2004 and is based at the Worthington Baseball Complex in Raceland. The Kentucky Mudcats are managed and coached by Marty Mills.
