Behind a 22-point performance from Hagen Schaeffer and a career-high 14 from Maggie Hoover, Notre Dame got off to an impressive start Monday with a 74-24 SOC I win at East.


Katie Stevenson added 11 while Ragen Kayser chipped in with 10 in the win. Hoover and Brooke Pierron each had six steals while Pierron and Audri Graf pulled down six rebounds. Brooklyn Meadows paced the Tartans with 10 in the defeat.


The Titans will entertain Ironton St. Joseph Saturday while East returns to the hardwood Dec. 2 for a home date with Clay.

Clay 67, Symmes Valley 47

Three Clay players were in double figures Monday, led by Katie Redding’s game-high 19 points and 18 rebounds, helped the visiting Panthers to a 67-47 win at Symmes Valley.

Lexie Gilliland added 17 points while Emily Widdowson chipped in with 16 in the victory. Kalli Hunt and Breanna Brumfield led the Vikings with 17 and 15 respectively.

Clay returns home Dec. 2 to entertain East. Symmes Valley will travel that night to Eastern.

Minford 51, Waverly 41

Kylie Berry’s team-high 11 points along with 10 from Kelsey Conkey helped host Minford pick up its first win of the season in a 51-41 decision over SOC II foe Waverly.

Laken Smith led all scorers with 12 in the loss. The Falcons will rest until their Dec. 5 matchup with defending SOC II champion Wheelersburg. The Tigers will play Dec. 2 at Oak Hill.

Valley improved to 2-0 on the season with a 46-39 SOC II home win Monday over Northwest thanks to 15 points from Lexie Doddridge and 12 from Bethany Conley.

Conley also had a team-high seven rebounds in the win. Darbie Jenkins had a game-high 16 points for the Mohawks.

The Indians travel Monday to West. Northwest will take on the Senators in a Dec. 5 matchup.

Sydney Holden and Makayla Akers each had 10 points and six rebounds to lead defending SOC II champion Wheelersburg to a 52-39 road win over West.

McKenzie Whittaker led all scorers with 23 in the defeat. The Pirates with the road again Dec. 2 to battle South Webster. The Senators will host Valley that night.

Despite a game-high 24 points by Peighton Williams, Portsmouth was unable to get its first win of the season as the Trojans fell 65-46 at Manchester.

Portsmouth will travel Friday to Jackson.
