Waverly golf claims quad to start 2013 fall sports season

The 2013 OHSAA fall high school sports season for local schools began Tuesday as Waverly claimed a four-team golf match against SOC II rivals West, Valley and Minford at Shawnee State Golf Course.


The Tigers shot a combined score of 171 for the victory. Pierce Knisley led the winners with a 40.


Jordan Pieman was the medalist of the match as his 37 paced the Senators to a 174 for second place. The Indians finished with a score of 204, led by Brent Bates’ 48. Lastly, the Falcons’ Seth Jenkins carded a 47 to lead his team to a 209 score.


Valley, Minford and South Webster will play Wednesday at Little Scioto. West will return Thursday to Shawnee to play Eastern and Western.
