Old rivalries resume
Alumni football is coming to Portsmouth. Gridiron Alumni is planning several full contact alumni football games, including Rock Hill vs Coal Grove and Ironton vs Portsmouth.
Gridiron Alumni travels the nation pitting old football rivals against each other one more time. Players are needed to sign up and the first 40 players on each team get to play. The team that gets 30 people registered first gets home field advantage.
This year, hundreds of players and thousands of fans swarmed stadiums to watch their hometown heroes strap it on one more time. Over 1300 fans watched alumni from Boyd County and Ashland battle it out a few weeks ago at KCU.
Gridiron Alumni is targeting more of the biggest rivalries in the nation for it’s Gridiron Alumni Rivalry Series. Teams from Ironton, Rock Hill, Coal Grove, Porstmouth, as well as other area teams are forming now.
The games are set for the Fall and spots fill up fast. If you or someone you know is interested in putting on the pads one more time, please go to http://www.gridironalumni.com to register.
