A total of 7,861 job openings were posted online according to the Nelsonville-Southeast JobsOhio Network, from June 14, 2014, through July 13, 2014, for Adams, Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Gallia, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Vinton and Washington counties.

Among the top employers placing ads for jobs were to companies from the immediate area. Ranked second among the top ads placement was Genesis Health Care, followed by Southern Ohio Medical Center. During the period Genesis listed 138 ads and SOMC 90.

According to data from The Conference Board in over all listings of companies and ads, this was a decrease of 508 ads from the previous reporting period. Compared to the same time period a year ago, the latest numbers represent an increase of 859 ads.

Among the top jobs listings, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers topped the list with 1,057. 300 ads were for retail salespersons and 277 were for registered nurses.

The information provided in the report is based on Help Wanted OnLine (HWOL) data provided by The Conference Board. The series is compiled with Wanted Analytics Software. Third-party, staffing agencies and anonymous employers are not included.

The information is meant to be a snapshot in time and may not represent long-term trends. Any of the data, including historical reports, may vary slightly over time, as minor revisions are continually made to their live database. Some ads may appear in two or more occupation codes and may be counted more than once.

The Conference Board said the information should be used in conjunction with local labor market information to analyze current occupational demand. The data has not been seasonally adjusted.
