A motorcylce crash in Portsmouth has sent a southern Ohio woman to an area hospital.

Captain Jerry Leach of the Portsmouth Police Department said a 2004 Harley-Davison motorcycle, operated by Miranda Cooper, 38, of Kitts Hill, Ohio, swung too wide turning left from Fourth Street onto Washington Street and struck the curb and a utility pole on the right wide of the street.

According to Leach, the crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. on Sunday and Cooper was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center by Life Ambulance and later transferred to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
