BOYD COUNTY, Ky. — The Boyd County Sheriff’s Department reports that a two-hour stand-off occurred Saturday, June 14, on Fish Hatchery Road in Boyd County.
According to reports, deputies with the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint regarding shots being fired at Fish Hatchery Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 42-year-old male, armed with a pistol, and threatening to commit suicide. Authorities at the sheriff’s department said they are not releasing the name of the male subject at this time.
Deputies were involved in a stand-off with the subject which lasted approximately two hours. Reports reveal that the subject was disarmed and tased, and was subdued by deputies. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The male subject was transported to Kings Daughters Medical Center regarding his mental state of being a threat to himself and others.
