Friends of a former local woman who died suddenly this past week have opened an account to financially assist her husband and children. Jenny Zentarski, 38, formerly Jenny Lester, passed away during surgery to place stents in order to take care of a blood clot.

Zentarski (Lester) had worked at Classi Image Hair Salon, and eventually became an adjunct professor of chemistry at Shawnee State University.

“She worked as a hairdresser for several years and she eventually graduated from Shawnee State University with a chemistry degree,” said her friend, Assistant Scioto County Prosecutor Julie Hutchinson. “She was, despite struggling as a single mom, happy and full of life.”

Hutchinson said Lester had moved to Columbus in 2009, but returned to teach at SSU. She met Adrian Zentarski and the two had twins, Xander and Laurel on Nov. 11, 2011, bought a home, and were married. She became pregnant again nine months ago and baby Arwyn was born on March 5.

“Doctors had informed Jenny that she had a blood clot that would have to be addressed after the birth,” Hutchinson said. “Just four days after giving birth, Jenny was hospitalized to address the blood clot.”

Hutchinson said, while the stents were being put in, her blood pressure dropped and her heart stopped. They were unable to revive her.

“Her husband is going to need all the help he can get to raise her four children,” Hutchinson said. She told the Daily Times an account has been set up for her family at Huntington Banks. There is also an online fundraiser set up by her friend Lynnsey Holland. It’s located at fundrazr.com under Family of Jen Zentarski.

“It was in her nature to encourage people and lift their self-image,” Hutchinson said. “Many family members, friends, students, and even people who only met her once have posted stories to her facebook page (Jen Zentarski) about how beautiful she was inside and out.”
