Before you plan on putting away your winter gear, old man winter may be planning a final assault on the region. The National Weather Service at Wilmington had called for a chance for freezing drizzle across the area Thursday night.
The NWS went on to describe a disturbance moving across the area on Friday, which it says is expected to bring accumulating snow of one to two inches to the region. Another system will move through the region Saturday night bringing additional snow to the area.
Long range forecasts are calling for slowly rising temperatures next week. The Weather Channel is forecasting a high of 49 with rain on Monday.
