It will begin to look a lot like Christmas Friday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Women of Cornerstone will host their annual Snowflake Bazaar and Luncheon event beginning at 10 a.m.

Carol Mascari, President of the United Methodist Women at Cornerstone UMC said they look forward to hosting the long-time event.

“We put on this Snowflake Bazaar each year as one of our fundraisers to raise money for mission work, locally, globally, and here at the church,” Mascari said. With the bazaar have something called Attic Treasures, and a section for Creations which are handmade items that people make, such as wreaths and Christmas decorations.”

According to Mascari, the bazaar will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will re-open from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will also include a Sweet Shop full of sweet treats, as well as a yard sale of Christmas items.

Stephanie Wright, chairman of the Snowflake Bazaar said local vendors will be present at the bazaar.

“We have some women coming that knit, and make personalized ornaments. We have a young lady that will be here for the first time that makes ribbon-wreaths, and they are absolutely stunning,” Wright said.

Wright said there will be a variety of items available for Christmas shoppers.

“We have a lot of beautiful things that people can come and pick out so they can have Christmas gifts, decorations. There will be unique, one-of-a-kind items that you are not going to find anywhere else,” Wright said.

The luncheon will convene from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a menu to include pasta fagioli soup or broccoli cheese soup, hot ham and cheese sandwich, potato chips, dessert and a beverage.

The cost for the luncheon is $8 for adults, and $4 for children.

Mascari said funds from the bazaar will be allocated for mission projects.

“Our mission dollars go all over the world. We have a lot of projects around the world that we support. Our focus is women, youth and children. We raise funds for Third World countries to have clean water, and locally give money to The Salvation Army, Scioto Christian Ministry, and The Counseling Center,” Mascari said.
