The Civic Forum is set to host the third annual Fall Trout or Treat Derby on Saturday Oct. 5 at Turkey Creek Lake.


The event is designed for kids ages 13 and under and seniors 55 and over.


Todd Book of Civic Forum said for the event several hundred fish will be released into Turkey Creek Lake and around 20 of the fish will be tagged, whoever catches those particular fish during the event will a prize.


He said participants regardless of age will have to bring their own fishing equipment to use.


“People should bring their fishing poles and be prepared to have a good time,” Book said.


He said the event is being offered free of charge to participants, though older participants may have to acquire a fishing license to participate.


The annual event is being held in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.


The Fall Trout Derby begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until 1 p.m.
