A serious accident in Sciotoville Saturday night sent one person to a Huntington hospital and another to Southern Ohio Medical Center.
According to Portsmouth Police, A vehicle operated by Terry Timberlake, 49, of Sciotoville, went out of control, crossed the center line near Scioto Shoe Mart, went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
“He was ejected,” Captain Jerry Leach of the Portsmouth Police Department said. “A passenger said she fell out of the vehicle and the driver fell partly on top of her with his legs inside the vehicle. So both were ejected.”
The passenger was identified as Terry Timberlake’s 19-year-old daughter, Tabitha Timberlake.
“Terry Timberlake was transported to the Tractor Supply parking lot where a medical helicopter picked him up and flew him to St. Mary’s Hospital Trauma Center in Huntington. Tabitha Timberlake was transported to SOMC for treatment,” Leach said.
Leach said he was at the East High School football game at the time of the crash, which is listed at 7:59 p.m., and he responded from there.
AEP Ohio told police very little damage was caused to the utility pole.
