Chris Wiseman says he is excited about coming back to his home district to serve the scouts of this area. Wiseman has accepted a new position as the Tecumseh District Executive, Boy Scouts of America.
“I am eager to return to my home district and give back to an area and organization which had a lifelong influence on my childhood,” Wiseman said.
After nearly a year of successful service to the Scouting profession in the Ohio Valley District, which encompasses southwest Franklin County, Pickaway County, and Fayette County, Wiseman will be taking on the role of Tecumseh District Executive. During his tenure in Ohio Valley, Chris has contributed to all aspects of district operations including unit service, assisting with program delivery, and fundraising support.
“Chris is excited about serving Scouting and his community by returning to his home district and we’re excited to have Chris return,” District Commissioner Judy Sanders said.
A native resident of South Shore, Ky., Chris is a graduate of Morehead State University, An Eagle Scout from Troop 98 in South Shore, he has been involved with Scouting for 15 years in the Portsmouth area, serving on the Camp Oyo Summer Camp staff for four years. He served as Camp Director at the Simon Kenton Council’s Camp Falling Rock in Newark, Ohio the past two years.
The Tecumseh District takes in Scioto, Lawrence and Adams counties in Ohio and Greenup County in Kentucky and is one of 11 traditional Scouting districts in the Simon Kenton Council. More than 400 local volunteers deliver the Scouting program to more than 1,000 young people from ages 7 to 21.
