FRANKLIN FURNACE — Officials with Fountainhead Nursing Home gathered on Friday to ceremoniously break ground on an expansion on their existing facility in Franklin Furnace.
According to officials with the project, the scope of work includes construction of a 30-bed skilled nursing facility that will bring 30 private suites with a 10 unit independent living addition. A new dining area, TV lounge, nursing station and therapy room will also be constructed as a part of the expansion efforts.
Once complete, the 9,000 square-foot addition will specialize in short-term rehabilitative care and long-term nursing care.
According to promotional material about the expansion, once complete Fountainhead Nursing Home will be the first in the area to provide private suites to clients. When expansion is complete in the summer of 2014, the facility will employ more than 35 full- and part-time people.
Fountainhead Nursing Home is located at 4734 Gallia Pike, in Franklin Furnace. For more information about the facility, call 740-354-9151.
