Task Force arrests Columbus man on heroin charges

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware say on Saturday, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force arrested Deshawn L. Gravely, 29, of 3134 Allegheny Ave. Apt. C Columbus, during a traffic stop on U.S. 23 South in Rosemount.
During a search of the vehicle Gravely occupied, officers said they seized approximately 22 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Gravely was arrested and charged with trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree, and possession of drugs, also a felony of the second degree.
Gravely was placed in the Scioto County Jail and held on $40,000 bond.
The case against Gravely will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury.
