A mistrial has been declared in the case of Dublin, Ohio attorney Steven Hillman. Judge Michael L. Barrett, hearing the case in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati declared the mistrial when deliberations resulted in a hung jury. Barrett dismissed the jury after a day-and-a-half of deliberations.

As to whether the government will re-try Hillman, Fred Alverson, Law Enforcement Coordinator for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern Ohio District, told the Daily Times, “We’re reviewing our options.”

Hillman was charged with conspiracy to distribute and dispense controlled substances and money laundering in connection with several pain clinics in the area including Southern Ohio Complete Pain Management, located at 1219 Findlay St., in Portsmouth, and Portsmouth Medical Solutions, 1405 11th St., Portsmouth, owned and operated by Tracy Bias and Bart Journey, each of which pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

Both Bias and Journey previously entered guilty pleas to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
