The Academic Competition season began on Thursday, Sept. 14, at the South Central Ohio ESC.

Each year the ESC oversees Academic Competitions, using the Ohio Academic Competition format. The purpose of this competition is to encourage higher-order thinking, recognize outstanding achievement, and promote academic excellence among participating high school students. Approximately 200 to 250 students participate in Academic Competitions, held weekly from September through December at the ESC.

The event is coordinated by ESC Gifted Services Coordinator Sharee Price, and the matches are moderated by Price and Mike Glenn.
