The Scioto County Right to Life will conduct its annual Lila Donley Life Chain on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the parking lot of Vinyl Kraft in New Boston.

Rev. Robert Coffey, president of Scioto County Right to Life, said the purpose of the event is to bring attention to the cause of promoting life, and is held in honor of of Lila Donley, former president of Scioto County Right to Life who passed away in 2011.

“We just ask volunteers to come and to stand silently in prayer and in thoughtfulness for those who have already been murdered by abortion, and to help get the message out to others that we need to fight for the right to life,” Coffey said.

Coffey said they are anticipating a great turn out for this year’s Life Chain.

“Weather permitting, we are expecting at 100 to 150 people this year,” Coffey said.

Coffey said he is passionate about the sanctity of human life, and is against the increasing abortion rate in America.

“I am passionate about this issue because I think that it is really a shame on our nation that over 50 million babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade. We really need to understand that God gives life, and life should be protected, and it is my passion to stand and to be a part of that,” Coffey said.

Coffey said interested participants are asked to meet on the parking lot of Vinyl Kraft, 3404 Rhodes Avenue, New Boston, at 1:45 p.m. The Life Chain will begin at 2 p.m. For questions, contact Rev. Robert Coffey, at 354-1108.
