Scioto Free Will Baptist Church


Scioto Free Will Baptist Church, 2111 Cockrell’s Run Road in Lucasville is announcing that Rev. Dan Widdig is the Pastor of our church. We are glad that he and his wife, Clara have joined us. Homecoming services will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. Service begins at 9:30 a.m., with Dr. Greg Hudson preaching and the Mission Quartet from Florence, Ky. providing the singing. Dinner will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Pastor Dan and congregation is inviting all to come, worship, and praise the Lord with us.


South Shore First Church of the Nazarene


South Shore First Church of the Nazarene, 356 S.M. Roberson Drive in South Shore will have visit from Joe and Cheryl Young who serve as missionaries in Asia Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 during the morning worship service. Everyone is invited to attend this special missionary service. Dinner will be served immediately followed the service in the church Fellowship Hall.


Christ Brethren Church


Christ Brethren Church 5877 St. Rt. 139 in Rubyville will be holding services on Sunday, Sept. 15 starting with morning services at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. A Wednesday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. with studying in the Bible in the book of Luke. Everyone welcome with Bob Davis.


First Church of Christ


Men of the First Church of Christ, 1224 Dogwood Ridge Road, Wheelersburg, will attend the KYOWVA’s Quarterly Supper Meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Central Church of Christ, 1541 South 7th St., Ironton. Tracy Toole of Huntington, W.Va., will be sharing in music and preaching during the evening. He also will give an update on his ministry.


Members and friends of COLTS will have their monthly luncheon and meeting at noon Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Ponderosa, Ohio River Road, Wheelersburg.


Helping Hands, the ladies group, will have their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. at the home of Maxine Munn.

Otway Community Church evening service


The Otway Community Church has started Sunday evening services beginning at 6 p.m. On Sept. 22, Scott Carr will be guest speaker and Voice of Praise will be singing. Service begins at 6 p.m.


North Moreland Christian Baptist Church


Homecoming will be Sunday, Sept. 15. Breakfast is served every Sunday morning 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Sunday School 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Pastor Paul Hagen. First Christian Church


First Christian Church 843 Third Street in Portsmouth will host a yard sale Sept. 18, 2013, 9 a.m until. There will be something available for everyone.


1st Christian Holiness Revival


1st Christian Holiness Church, at Rhodes and Ohio Avenue, in New Boston, will have revival Sept. 18-22 with Monty Hurst Family singing and preaching. Service times 7 p.m. nightly and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. On Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a special service with Ed Myers and Rob Newman doing a Bible character portrayal and singing.


Saturday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m.: free gospel sing with: “The Wilburns”, “The Smith Creek Boys”, Rob Newman, and Russ Hammond. Oct. 13, “Covered by Love” will be singing in the morning services.


Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m.


Berean Baptist Church news


The Missions Conference was held on Wednesday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 22. Missionary Doris Bowman taught in the Book of Esther one half hour prior to the regular services from 6:30-7 for all the ladies of the church. Board meeting held on Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Each Wednesday, the AWANA and New Life Teens meet at 6:45 – 8:15 p.m. Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. and Bus Ministry Visitation at 11 a.m. The first Cantata practice will be held Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. The 5th Quarter for all teens will be held Sept. 27 in the church gym from 8 p.m. – midnight. Communion will be served on Sunday, Sept. 29 in the evening service. Special birthday recognition to Vern Lavender on his 82nd birthday on Sept. 26; Harry James on his 84th birthday on Sept. 28 and 41st anniversary recognition to Tom and Sharon Rawlins on Sept. 23. Communion will be served on Sept. 29 in the evening worship service.
