A large amount of cash, a small amount of heroin and several pills were confiscated in the arrest of a man wanted by the state on a parole violation. George A. Lucas, 37, of Latham Street in Dayton, Ohio, was taken into custody Tuesday at around 4:45 p.m..
The Southern Ohio Drug Task Force with assistance from detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and Portsmouth Police Department arrested Lucas from a vehicle stopped by detectives in the 2100 block of Scioto Trail in Portsmouth.
Lucas had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for violating parole, which had been issued by the Adult Parole Authority of the State of Ohio.
During a search incident to arrest, detectives said they seized approximately $9,300 cash, a small amount of suspected heroin and several suspected Xanax pills.
Lucas was placed in the Scioto County Jail and is being held without bail.
A case against Lucas will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of felony drug-related charges.
