Suspected drugs found after arrests

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware announce that on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at approximately 10:30a.m., officers with the Scioto County Common Pleas Court Adult Probation Department, the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, and the Portsmouth Police Department with assistance from the Portsmouth Metropolitan Housing Security Department, arrested 35 year old Brandon Terrell Gripper of Columbus, Ohio on an indictment warrant for his arrest on charges of Trafficking and Possession of Cocaine, both felonies of the 2nd degree, which had been issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court.

Officers located Gripper in a parked vehicle on Kendall Avenue in Portsmouth, Ohio while remaining officers conducted a probation visit of the apartment of 37 year old Danni Rai Bendolph of 1902 Kendall Avenue Apartment J. Small amounts of suspected cocaine and marijuana were seized from the apartment. Bendolph was eventually arrested for violating probation.

Gripper and Bendolph were placed in the Scioto County Jail. Gripper is being held without bail until he is arraigned in Scioto County Common Pleas Court, while Bendolph is being held by the probation department.

A case will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony drug charges.
