The popularized heroic character Batman, along with his Batmobile, is coming to Spartan Stadium in Portsmouth Saturday, June 18, for the Touch-a-Truck event. The event is sponsored by the Pediatric Guild of Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) and will be held from 4-6 p.m. Batman will arrive at the stadium at 4:30 p.m.

Aubrey Roy, SOMC Pediatric Guild member, said they are elated about bringing the Touch-a-Truck event to the local community, which will provide a fun-filled family day.

“The SOMC Pediatric Guild is very excited to offer the Touch-a-Truck event to our community. It is a family oriented day of fun at an affordable price. The children will get to get an up close hands-on experience with a variety of trucks and equipment,” Roy said.

All Touch-a-Truck proceeds will be allocated towards the SOMC Pediatric Guild, according to Ashley Musser, also a Guild member.

“All proceeds from the Touch-a-Truck benefit the SOMC Pediatric Guild. The guild raises funds for pediatric and maternity patient needs at SOMC. The guild has been able to help maternity and pediatrics significantly with the funds raised,” Musser said.

Children will have the opportunity to turn imagination into real-life and climb into the drivers seat, as the event will feature a host of fire trucks, police cars, a helicopter, a semi truck, a school bus and many more.

The cost is $2 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
