Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini is advising residents to be aware of phone scams. We have been alerted to a phone scam circulating where the caller asks you to enter your Debit card account number and PIN. Please be advised that this is a scam.

Most recently residents have received calls from a 777-7 number which shows up on the caller ID. Sheriff Donini advises residents to not give your personal information out to these callers.

Sheriff Donini would like to remind residents of Scioto County that your financial institutions will not call and ask for this information. If you believe that your Debit card has been compromised to call your financial institution to stop the activity on your card.

A law enforcement report can be completed at your local law enforcement agency if requested to complete one by your financial institution.
