MARILYN JANE STAPLETON FERRELL

PORTSMOUTH-Marilyn Jane Stapleton Ferrell, 65 of Portsmouth passed away Sunday May 29th 2016. She was born September 4, 1950 a daughter of the late Frances “Annie” Brown Stapleton and Elliott “Windy” Stapleton. She was a 1969 Graduate of Portsmouth East High School. She previously worked at Reeces Hamburger Inn until it burned down, Jim Dandy Restaurant, and American Restaurant. She was a faithful member of the Mabert Road Baptist Church and volunteered at Best Care, Hempstead, and Golden Years nursing homes. She will be loved and missed by everyone. The family would like to give a big thank you to Heartland Hospice and Bridge Port Nursing Home. Marilyn is survived by a sister, Connie Glenn, whom she made her home with; a niece, Mary Ann Blackburn, who was also her caregiver for the last 2 ½ years; an aunt, Annette Brown, of Newark, Ohio; her former husband, Jack Ferrell, of Chesapeake, Ohio; in laws, Wilford and Joy Ferrell of Wheelersburg, Ohio; several cousins; her loving dogs Radar and Sugar. She was also proceeded in death by a son Richard Allen Stapleton. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday June 1, 2016 at the D.W. SWICK – NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor James Benner officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
