RSI, DOE employees make improvements to Waverly park

WAVERLY, Ohio – About 50 Restoration Services, Inc. (RSI) employees and their family members took part in the company’s environmental day on Saturday, May 7, at the Walnut Street Park in Waverly, Ohio.

Those participating beautified the park and made it safer for adults and children alike with a range of activities. Mulch was added to the bases of large trees, weeds were removed from several play areas, park benches were stained, loose gravel was removed from high-traffic areas and a tree was planted, among other efforts.

RSI is the Environmental Technical Services contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio.

“RSI not only plays a role in the environmental cleanup at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant but also takes seriously its responsibilities as a community business. We believe we have an obligation to contribute to the area and this is one of the ways we do that,” said Greg Wilkett, RSI program director at the Portsmouth site. “I’d like to thank members of our team and representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy who assisted us in this worthwhile cause.”

RSI is also a sponsor of the Waverly YMCA, the 2016 SamJam Bluegrass Festival in Piketon this Labor Day weekend and is a contributor to the Jasper Elementary Open House at the beginning of each school year where school supplies and other items are donated to local students.

RSI is an employee-owned small business headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with offices in Waverly and Aiken, S.C. RSI offers services focused on environmental cleanup and beneficial site reuse.
