More than forty-five health related organizations will be partnering with South Webster High School to put on the 26th Annual Bloom-Vernon Community Health Fair.

The health fair will be held on Wednesday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the South Webster High School Gymnasium.

Representatives from area hospitals such as Southern Ohio Medical Center, King’s Daughters Medical Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital will also be present.

“This is not only beneficial to our students and our staff, but the community as a whole, it’s definitely a positive event,” said South Webster’s Superintendent Mark Kreischer.

The event is open to the public, and the school district encourages individuals to take advantage of the opportunities that the Health Fair provides.

“It also exposes our kids to health and wellness, it’s something they go over in the classroom, but it helps them to see it in action. We hope that it encourages them to make choices that benefit their health and wellness,” Kreischer said.

There will be various health screenings, tests and information provided by the agencies and medical personnel.

One of which is a blood-drive organized by the American Red Cross. If you wish to give the “Gift of Life”, appointments can be arranged by calling 740-778-0001, but walk-ins will also be accepted.

The mammography bus from King’s Daughters Medical Center will be present for those having made prior arrangements. Additional information regarding this screening and appointments can be set up by calling District Nurse, Katie Allard at 740-778-2339.

“It’s a win-win for our district and it’s also great when to community can get involved. We’re excited to see the turnout for this year,” Kreischer said.

If your agency or organization would like to participate, or if you would like specific information regarding this annual event call Rodney Barnett, event coordinator, at 740-778-0001 during school hours or any evening at 740- 778-2110.
