PORTSMOUTH — Calvary Baptist Church, 2306 Waller Street, Portsmouth will host the Christian Home Crusade March 17-18, 2016. The Crusade will conclude at the Vern Riffe Center.

Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church Ryan Brown, said they are looking forward to hosting the event again this year.

“The Slogan is, ‘Revival Begins at Home,’ and we came up with that because see it as a progression. Strong families make strong churches, and strong churches make strong communities,” Brown said. “All of the ills in our community and every circumstance in life we believe, that there is a remedy at home. So we are trying to provide resources, encouragement, challenge, opportunities for families to build themselves, to encourage one another and to grow in the Lord.”

More than 25 sponsoring churches. People registered from 48 churches. People from 42 countries listened to the online radio broadcast. More than 50,000 people attended, listened to the online and terrestrial radio broadcast or watched on The Zone television station.

“Everything kicks off with what we call Revival training sessions, and we have sessions every morning at 10 o’clock and we have a number of people coming in that are going to provide helpful tools for pastors, for families, for churches, for community leaders,” he said. “We will have everything from a legal seminar to help churches to get their legal house in order. We will have answers in Genesis, and have an evangelist coming in that will be coming in to talk about creation evangelism. The pastoral track is going to be talking about replanting a church, and kind of that smaller church aspect.”

For all those who are in ministry for people working in their church, we have a track for them about keeping their heart right, and a love for people and to encourage people,” he said. “So a number of things are going on beginning this Thursday and Friday morning at 10 o’clock.

The Christian Home Crusade will continue Thursday evening at Calvary Baptist Church. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Thursday evening there will be a Teen Crusade, Childrens Crusade, and Home Crusade all taking place simultaneously.

Revival Begins at Home The great problem facing God’s people is not a government issue or even a cultural issue; our great problem is a problem at home. Our culture will be changed by our churches and our churches will reflect what happens in our homes. A revival in the Christian Homes of our region could change the world for Christ. The services will begin at 7 p.m. and will last approximately 2 hours.

Our combined adult and children’s choirs will present God honoring music that will stir our spirits. Prelude music provided by Crown College in Powell, Tennessee and Hyles Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana. Additional music will be provided by solos and groups of area churches.

Dr. Clarence Sexton and Dr. John Wilkerson will be speaking to all in attendance for the Christian Home Crusade at 7 pm.

The Key Features of the Crusade will also consist of choir made up of more than 100 voices, Ohio Valley Children’s Choir, and a 150 plus voice Ohio Valley Crusade Choir.

Professional recording of all music including the Crusade Choir and the Ohio Valley Children’s Choir. Many Exhibitors providing helpful resources for churches and families. Pastor’s Resource Table for all pastors and staff in attendance, and Christian Home Crusade Report from 2014.

The Christian Home Crusade is sponsored and supported by many Independent Baptist Churches from Ohio as well as Kentucky and West Virginia.

The Crusade is made possible through sponsoring churches. The role of a sponsoring church is to prayerfully support the Christian Home Crusade through: Prayer, Attendance, Ministry Support (Ushers, Personal Workers etc.), Crusade and Children’s Choir, and Financially. We are praying for 20 sponsoring churches to support the Crusade for $250.

Every person who has an official role as a leader or volunteer in this effort is to be a member of a sponsoring or supporting church.
