In order to raise an additional $125,000 for the proposed Riverside Park Splash Park, the Scioto County Commissioners announced the creation of the 2016 Riverside Park Splash Park Community Partners Initiative.
“The goal of the commissioners is to provide an exceptionally fun, healthy recreational experience for all who come to the park,” according to released information about the initiative. “With our below average health indices and the need to attract businesses and business professionals to our area, it is the hope of the Scioto County Commissioners to offer more recreational opportunities to our citizens. The estimates to build additional facilities to support the splash park (restrooms, shelter house, concessions, etc..) increases the cost of the project. We need community partners to help in offsetting these costs.”
In the last Ohio Capital Improvement Budget passed by lawmakers and signed into law by Governor John Kasich, Scioto County was allotted $250,000 to construct a splash park. In total the project is anticipated to cost roughly $426,000.
The commissioners believe they have enough to build the splash park, but are seeking an additional $125,000 to enhance the park.
The initiative includes different categories companies or individuals could participate in.
The Founders Level sponsorship is being offered at $100,000, which a company or individual would receive naming rights to the park with a company logo displayed prominently in the park and a name on a permanent on-site sponsor plaque.
A platinum sponsorship is being offered at $50,000, which a company or individual would receive a logo on a prominent feature of the park and naming rights to the concession/shower building and a name on a permanent on-site sponsor plaque.
A gold sponsorship is being offered at $25,000, which offers a company or individual would receive a logo prominently displayed on a splash park feature and a name on a permanent on-site sponsor plaque.
A silver sponsorship is being offered to a company or individual for $10,000, which a company or individual would receive a name of a splash park feature and a name on a permanent on-site sponsor plaque.
A bronze sponsorship is being offered for $5,000, which offers a company or individual a name on a permanent on-site sponsor plaque.
A friend of Riverside Park Splash Park sponsorship is being offered for $1,000 and helps in the upkeep and operation of the park each year. This level of sponsorship will allow the company or individual to receive recognition through an annual Friends of Riverside Park Splash Park banner posted at the start of each season the park is open.
A brick sponsorship is being offered for $100, on which an individual or company could place their name on a brick to be included on a walkway near the splash park.
The commissioners are hopeful to have the construction on the park begin soon to be open in late spring or early summer.
