Father, son murder case goes to grand jury

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. — Greenup County Circuit Court staff confirmed with The Daily Times the murder case involving Johnny B. Clark, 48, of Argillite, Ky., and his son, John D. Clark, 21, also of Argillite, Ky. has been bound over to a grand jury.

Kentucky State Police arrested Johnny Clark and John Clark on Jan. 9, 2016, after receiving a call from the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department, who was in need of assistance regarding an alleged shooting which occurred at 32 Moccasin Way in Argillite, Ky.

The victim is Todd Anthony Rowe, 35, of Argillite, Ky., now deceased. Reportedly, Rowe had been by shot one of the two suspects, Johhny Clark and John Clark, who were both arrested and taken into custody.

A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, in which both Clark suspects stood before Judge McCloud. At the completion of the hearing, McCloud bound both cases over to a to a grand jury, according to court staff.

Investigators are not certain of which one of the Clark men actually fired the shot that killed Rowe, and the case remains under investigation, according to reports.

The two Clark suspects remain lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash only bond for both men.
