In its 27th year, the Annual Boy Scout Holiday Auction will get its start on December 1 and run through December 7. This year’s auction is being held on the internet.

“Last year (2014), we made some changes to our auction and teamed up with Don Gleim Auctions for an online auction lasting one week,” Chris Wiseman, senior district executive for the Tecumseh District, said in a released statement. “We wanted to keep up with the times and found the online auction to be very successful.”

Some of the items available at this year’s auction includes sports memorabilia, furniture, electronics, gift baskets, gift certificates, a 50 inch television, Boy Scout and Portsmouth area memorabilia, autographed OSU items, along with coins and other collectibles.

Wiseman said proceeds from the auction will benefit area Boy Scouts of America.

“When you support the auction, you are giving more boys the opportunity to live and contribute as productive citizens and become our communities’ leaders of tomorrow,” Wiseman said.

Once the auction starts, available items can be viewed and bid on by visiting www.gleimauctions.com.

The auction will start December 1 at 8 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. on December 7.

The Simon Kenton Council of the Boy Scouts of American serves the scouting needs of 17 counties in central and southern Ohio and Greenup County in northern Kentucky. The council is staffed by more than 40 professional and administrative Scouters with more than 6,500 adult volunteers delivering the Scouting program to more than 18,000 youth.

For more information on the auction, or to join a local Boy Scout unit, call the Scout Service Center at 740-354-2811.
