Veteran journalist, Fred Pace, has been named editor of the Daily Times in Portsmouth, Ohio, effective immediately. The announcement was made Monday, Nov. 30 by Publisher Hope R. Comer.
Pace has more than 30 years’ experience in the newspaper industry including roles as editor, business editor and reporter in West Virginia.
“Fred is the right person at the right time,” Comer said. “His depth and breadth of experience positions us well to provide top quality news and information about our community.”
Pace will lead the editorial staff and direct resources to provide improved coverage on local and regional issues important to readers. He will direct day-to-day operations of the newspaper’s editorial department and become part of the management team at the Daily Times and Community Common.
“I’m excited to join a talented and dedicated staff in Portsmouth,” said Pace. “I look forward to becoming part of the community and working closely with local leaders, businesses and organizations.”
