Election Day is looming, as voters prepare in Greenup County, and throughout the State of Kentucky for Nov. 3, 2015.
Rick Nelson, Democratic candidate in pursuit of the position of State Treasurer will be campaigning in the South Shore, Ky. area on Wednesday. State Rep. Tanya Pullin, said she is delighted to have Nelson in the area.
“The gentleman who is running for State Treasurer here in Kentucky, named Rick Nelson will be in the South Shore/South Portsmouth, Ky. area tomorrow (Oct. 28) campaigning,” Pullin said. “And it is such a rare thing, because many of the candidates do not come to us in South Shore, so we are really excited about having him visit with us.”
According to Pullin, Nelson plans to visit a variety of locations while in the are. On Wednesday, Oct.28, Nelson is scheduled to visit the Short Stop in Forest Heights, Ky., at 2 p.m. at the South Shore City Building, and South Shore Rotary Park at 2:30 p.m.

Greenup County Clerk, Pat Hieneman, said on the local level, voters do not have much to vote on.
“Unexpired Term for District Number 4, and no one has filed but one person, there is no contest but it is on the ballot,” Hieneman said. “The individual’s name is Mary Kay McGinnis Ruark.”There is also an Unexpired term in the city of Greenup for a council person, Steven Branin, and that will only be in couple of precincts for those that live inside of the city of Greenup.”
Polls will be open in Greenup, Ky. Nov. 3, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
