While there are haunted attractions, Trick-or-Treating, zombie events, and more to be had this Halloween, the Clay Alumni Association will be hosting its Annual Clay Christmas Craft Bazaar for those ready to sing carols and deck the halls come October 31.
While the bazaar will feature many Christmas products and gifts, it will also feature everyday products and decorative pieces as well.
The Clay Christmas Bazaar is the largest fundraiser the group facilitates and all proceeds go towards scholarship opportunities for young Clay Local High School Panthers each year. Last year, the group was able to provide 14 scholarships in the form of $1000. President Tim Large says he hopes to grow on that this year.
Food will be served, both at breakfast and lunch.
Breakfast will consist of pancakes and will be served between the hours of 9 and 11 a.m. The meal will cost $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.
Lunch will consist of hot dogs and chili and will be served between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. the meal will cost $5.
Large says the layout is clean and streamlines everyone along, so they can visit each vendor and spend time reviewing their products. The vendors range and include many topics.
Some of the larger vendors include Longaberger, Scentsy, 31, Advocare, Mary Kay, Avon, Origami Owl, Pampered Chef, Boy Scouts of America, and more.
There are also many local vendors and crafters, including those dealing in fudge, chocolate, wooden flowers, soaps and lotions, purses, embroidery, waxing, and more.
“The Clay Christmas Bazaar is a wonderful community event that has something for everyone and every age from a pancake breakfast to pictures with Santa,” Karen Davis, owner of Kakao Konfections, said. “It’s the perfect time for early shoppers to find those one of a kind items. I’ll be back this year with chocolates and a few new items! Most of the vendors are local folks. So anyone who buys items not only finds unique items, they support local, small business as well.
When guests aren’t touring over 45 vendors, they will be eligible to participate in free raffles and door prizes. There will also be a silent auction, entertainment will be provided, and Santa will be available for children to have pictures taken with.
“Most people like it, “Large said. “A lot of people enjoy having all of the different options all in one place. They like the setup we have in the gym, too, because it is easy to access and get around. The event is great for the whole family, because we have games and vendors of all types.”
The Clay Christmas Bazaar will be held at the Clay High School on US 23 North between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 31.
